This line is recommended for boats up to 30 ft.

5/8" line has approximately 5600 lbs. of tensile strength.
This line is recommended for boats up to 45 ft.

This is a general guide.
Your boat's weight, size and the conditions where you dock can have a bearing on which size of line you should use.
Tensile strengths are averages based on test of new rope.
